Extended break

My life has changed a lot in the past 6 months, and I find myself refocusing my interest in directions other than blogging.

I’ve taken long blogging breaks before and always come back.

I’m sure I will be back, just not sure when.

Comments are now off, because it’s not fair for you all to comment on my blog when I’m not going to comment on yours.

Take care!

Thanksgiving Break

I’m taking some time away from this blog for the Thanksgiving holiday.

For me, it’s no longer about stuffing myself with food.

It’s really never been about Christmas shopping, not for me at least, because I usually stay away from the stores as much as possible.

For me, Thanksgiving is about spending time with my whole family.

Besides spending time with my grandchildren, son, daughter-in-law, and d-i-l’s family, I will be thinking of my brother Roger, who just moved back to the northeast after 12 years in Florida.

And I will be thinking of our mother and father, and all of the family holidays we shared with laughter, tears, and love.

I will honor their memory by keeping the stories of our family alive for my son, my grandchildren, and myself.

If you celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I wish you the best.

And if you do not celebrate Thanksgiving, I wish you a wonderful week filled with laughter, love, and good health.

Twitter faux pas

Hi!

Sorry, but you cannot follow me at ________ or _______ or whatever you or some automaton just tried to assign your Twitter account to follow. This is my alternate account for reading other’s tweets. If you want to see mine, follow me at ______.

That’s okay, I will pass on following you anywhere.

Wow.

I just did not see THIS one coming.

I got notification that someone was following me on Twitter, tried to follow them back, and just found this email tonight.

Maybe I mentioned before, since being diagnosed with diabetes, I’ve got a little temper problem.

I’m just really hurt right now.

Back when I’m back.

N.B. After a good night of rest, I need to add that I have followed this person’s blog for years, and if the email mentioned above had been a bit more personalized (i.e., taking the time to use my name), I might not have felt like I was slapped.

I’ve not been following, or commenting on, the blog mentioned above very much these days. I’m not following any blogs as carefully these days, because I’m focusing so intently on my health.

Untreated diabetes can cause heart and circulatory problems, BLINDNESS, and a host of other icky health problems.

There.

That felt good.

Sunday thoughts

I’m not exercising today.

Taking the day off to rest.

Insomnia has been a big factor in my week, and I’m ready to have a quiet day.

So I’m doing my laundry, which is necessary if I’m to work this week.

But I’m only working three (count ’em) 3 days this week.

I hope you all have a great day!

Grandchildren visited today!

Luka, Veda, and Jaxon came to my apartment for a visit today.

Then I went over to visit them at my son’s apartment (which is less than a block from my place).

It’s been a fun day, but I’m tired!

Thankfulness

“I thank God for my handicaps, for, through them, I have found myself, my work, and my God.” Helen Keller

Here’s what I’m thankful for:

–Diabetes. Because I’m finally doing something about my weight. And because I’m working so hard on losing weight and getting my blood sugars down, I’m feeling so much better, and have a lot more energy.

–My family, of course. Hugging any one of my grandchildren feels like I’m closer to God than I’ve ever been in my life.

–My work. I went to college in my 40s, and have been blessed to work in my field since getting my college degrees. The only times I have been out of work have been my choice. I don’t make a lot of money, but I love what I do.

–And I’m thankful for all of you, my blogging friends.

Cool!

Expect more from me this weekend.

dark. cold. wet. windy. busy.

I’ve been a poor blogging friend these days.

Sorry about that, Chiefs.

Work is very busy, and it’s dark at 3 p.m. in the afternoon.

It’s been raining very hard, hailing, possible thunderstorms tonight.

So I’m getting to and from work every day, inching closer to a 4-day weekend next week.

And now I’m going to visit a few blogs before I become comatose for 7 or 8 hours.

Cheers!

Wet Sunday

It’s a wet day here in the Pacific Northwest.

My lights were on at 10:00 a.m.

Today I’m cleaning, cooking beef barley soup in my crockpot, listening to music, and staying active indoors.

And I’m fixin’ to make some blog visits!

Back to work tomorrow.

TTFN.

pin a medal on me and call me an athlete

Or not.

I walked 10,000+ steps yesterday!

It’s very cold in Seattle today; we got some trace snowflakes and hail during the night.

I missed it, as I was curled up in bed, snug and warm, all night.

You may have noticed that I deleted my post about Spam–I just felt like it, and I’m not going to make people sign in to comment.

I’ll just continue deleting spam comments about Viagra!

Have a great Saturday!
