I was watching American Idol and this alert flashed along the bottom of the screen.

Poem In Your Pocket Day – Poets.org – Poetry, Poems, Bios & More

Who knew it was Poem in your pocket day?

Not me.

I posted my favorite poem the other night, but I’m going to post it again.

And then I’m going to post my 2nd favorite poem, in honor of National Poetry Month.

Thanks to Word Mechanic, here’s my favorite poem:

anyone lived in a pretty how town by E. E. Cummings

anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn’t he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn’t they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone’s any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

Ample make this bed.

Ample make this bed.
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.

Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise’ yellow noise
Interrupt this ground.

Emily Dickinson

Enjoying spring

Tonight I’m waiting for the magic hour of 9:00 p.m.

That’s when Ghost Hunters and the American Idol Results show comes on.

I’ll be watching both, thanks to modern technology (my beloved remote control).

And now, I’m going to visit some blogs (and hopefully comment tonight).

My new pictures (this post and the header photo) were taken in my backyard this evening about 7:00 p.m.

Give it up, Gran, and let e.e. cummings take over

I give up trying to comment on blogs tonight.

Just wanted to let you all know I tried, but Blogger wanted to deny me access to comments.

Don’t worry, I’m not taking it personally.

So I’m going to share my favorite poem with you.

Enjoy.

Not as tired, but still grumpy

I can’t comment on my own blog!

Now I’m going to try commenting on YOUR blogs.

Happy News – Function Over Form is Helping Automaker to Actually Grow Sales

Jeep Wranglers, Subaru, Hyundai and Kia are actually selling.

simplifying your life is work

So you all know by now that I’m moving this summer.

I’m in the process of deciding what to take with me and what to give away.

Ugh.

At least I’m starting early, right?

Anyhoo, I worked hard today and am done in.

Happy Monday!

I am Vitamin C

You Are Vitamin C

You are responsible and good at taking care of yourself. Your health comes first.

As far as you’re concerned, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

It’s likely you eat well, exercise frequently, and avoid stress.

And because of this, you’re quite healthy and free from illness.

Here’s a big thanks to Glennis for this blogthing quiz.

Home, tired, and happy

I snapped these pictures of Luka (6 years old in August) and Veda (8 years old in July) with my cell phone.

We had a great time last night.

Luka has picked 3 jobs for his future: a pizza delivery man, an ice cream man, and a mountain climber. Luka figures he can make enough money selling pizza and ice cream to afford mountain climbing. “People pay you MONEY, Bunny Beth, when you give them pizza and ice cream.”

Veda and I had a very serious discussion about being eight years old, and what birds do not fly.

I’m home now, ready to catch up on my Google Reader, read, and go to bed early.

I hope you are all well!
